Portfolio Construction and Review
An independent read on what you already own, followed by a portfolio designed around your risk return profile rather than around what was easiest to sell you.
The review
We examine every holding you have: funds, stocks, insurance linked investments, small savings, employer schemes and property where it is relevant to allocation. The output is a plain language assessment of what each holding is doing in your portfolio and whether it needs to be there.
What a review typically surfaces
- Overlap, where several funds hold substantially the same companies
- Cost drag from regular plans where direct plans are available
- Investment linked insurance bought as investment
- Asset allocation that drifted and was never brought back
- Concentration risk, often in a single employer's stock
- Tax inefficiency in how and when holdings are sold
Construction
Allocation is decided before instrument selection. Instruments are then chosen on mandate clarity, cost, and the role they play in the whole, not on last year's returns. Direct plans only.
Rebalancing discipline
Rebalancing is defined in advance with thresholds, so the decision to act is made in a calm moment rather than in a volatile one. This is the part of portfolio management most often abandoned precisely when it matters.
